Recently Jacksons Carry Me Campers hosted their annual Corroboree at Mt Ive Station. The original venue had been planned for Maralinga - a last minute issue meant we had to change plans only two weeks out from the event! Due to many attendees existing travel plans, the new location needed to be in a similar geographical location. Although there had been a previous Corroboree held at Mt Ive, it had been ten years ago. We had 30 campers and 58 people attend from various parts of Australia. A great time was had by all - the weather blessed us with beautiful sunny days although each afternoon saw the storm clouds roll in. We encountered a few intermittent showers, thunder and lightening - close by received much more rain from the thunderstorms than where we were based. We enjoyed a campfire each night (thanks to the Mr Ive staff for our load of wood), serveral group sessions, including happy hour around the campfire, communal "pot luck" meal and again raised funds for the RFDS. Several vehicles took part in a drive to visit some of the properties attractions, with lunch at Lake Gairdner. The owners and staff at Mount Ive were extremey friendly and hospitable - they took pride in the presentation and cleanliness of the property and facilities - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all who attended or assisted in some way to make the event a great success.
